Goodreads’ Book Summary

Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

Initial Impressions

I assumed this book would be a cute little love story & that it was BUT there was a level of spice that slapped me stupid. I was NOT expecting the smut! It didn’t take away from the story at all, I was just taken back. Several times, I had to make sure I was reading in privately and not out in the open or in front of children. HA!

My thoughts

Archers voice was a beautiful story about finding sustenance in a relationship outside of physical attraction. Bree and Archer both had very traumatic events take place in their lives and through their friendship (basis for love) they were able to face their past traumas and support one another in their journey to heal. It was utterly romantic, how so much of their love was translated through other senses, how observant they were to one another’s needs/desires. To feel seen and acknowledged is crucial in a relationship, in any kind of relationship. It’s something that I think we, as humans, constantly strive for.. companionship but with someone who truly understands us. We want someone to understand us, even before we sometimes understand ourselves.
